Although it's difficult to speculate the kind of performance you'd get out of this laptop http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=103124
Linux laptop under £325 inc VAT That's a great deal; I'd buy it myself if I was in the UK. As for the CPU, it probably performs on-par with a low-end Pentium M but consumes less power. Good buy.
Linux laptop under £325 inc VAT god dam, i just spent £200 on a second hand laptop this morning! (lieterally, 6 hours ago). And it was a Pentium 3 :crying: It was second hand..... so at least i havnt contributed anything to intell! (same situation as me being vegitairian and walking about in a leather trech coat!). Note: *cough* if you know anyone with there own bussiness, they stuff VAT free... for the bussiness of course, you cant get anything VAT free for yourself! *wink*
Linux laptop under £325 inc VAT Hmm, that's debatable, but then again I am biased I remember reading that the VIA C3 800MHz was easily out performed by a Pentium 3 500MHz processor. I'd expect the 1.2GHz VIA CPU to be on a par with a mid-range Pentium 3. What attracted me the most to this laptop was the fact it shipped with Linux, rather then Windows. It's good to see Linux making inroads like this. I was also pleased it wasn't running Linspire
Linux laptop under £325 inc VAT SHOCK! HORROR! This laptop is now selling for £249.10 inc VAT I take back all the bad things i've said about eBuyer and.. urg... VIA
