Was half way loading the drivers for my new 8800 gts when my computer restarted. Now, the computer only loads to the bios startup screen and then after that it goes to a blank black screen. I tried putting in the old vid card and tried reinstalling windows as well without luck. I also reset the motherboard with no luck. Any help would be great.
yep seems your drivers were wired into your system, and of course was missing files. to fix the driver problem press and hold F8 just after the bios screen to load the Windows Startup Screen. You should see a boot menu, if not then reset and hold F8 from the beginning, if a boot menu appears just click the hard drive. If you get the Windows boot screen then choose SAFE MODE, this should boot into Windows properly (as far as your visual goes) Next, go into device manager (start button > control panel > system > hardware > device manager) then open up Display Adapters, it should say NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS. Whatever it says, double click it and click the DRIVER tab. Roll back the driver and reset. Let your PC boot normally, it may ask you to install a new driver for the found hardware, just ignore it and click cancel and install the drivers again
