I just got an Abit nf7-S and am gonna overclock some. Though, my 2600+ barton's multipliers are locked. Easiest way? I've heard pencils across L1 bridges unlocks it, I've heard you need to fill the pits with non-conductive material for Athlon XP's. Could anyone clear this up for me? Also, I saw something about shorting two pins on the cpu. So I dropped in a piece of wire into the two pin holes on the socket where they would go, nothing.
I thought that the nf7 unlocked your multipliers anyway. The ole pencil trick only works for for some old T-birds not t/bred or barton. I've seen a guide which you drop a small metal thing into 2 socket holes so just check you've done it right. try http://www.logan.eclipse.co.uk/unlocking_tbred's_&_bartons.htm
"After a lot of testing on these cpu's it has been made obvious that the only chips that need unlocked are the ones with multis above 12.5X......so remember that" Say wut? my multiplier is running at 11.5x, I don't get why they say only ones needed are ones to unlock are ones with multipliers above 12.5x
Did it again to yet another failure. I dropped a strand of standard phone line copper wiring into the correct pins. Still says 11.5x multi. Any suggestions?
