I have recently bought a logitech quickcam pro 5000 but cannot get it to be recognised on bootup in vista. The only way I can get it to work is to reconnect to the usb once the computer is up and running. I connected it in the right sequence and have the latest drivers. I would be grateful for anyone who can shed light on the matter and apologies if I have logged the problem in the wrong forum as I am not sure if its a hardware or software problem-some have told me its to do with the voltage on the usb's, others that its the drivers. Mike
Does it say on it that it is "vista certified" or "vista ready" or anything like that? I've heard Vista has lots of issues with any programs that are not brand new and specifically made to work on it. To me that sounds like software is the root of it, if it works fine when you reconnect it.
Dear Stephen Many thanks for the reply. Iwas beginning to lose hope of a response. Logitech quickcam pro 5000 says its been tested to run on vista. It does sound like a software problem given it works when reconnected . If its a vista problem I guess I will have to wait for thir first patch release. Logitech deny all problems as you would expect in a blame culture! Mike Sadlier
