My friends actually. Yeah the same one with all the problems Anyway one our mutual friends loaned him FarCry and he installed it and began playing and apparently it was all screwed up and the water "became the ground and sometimes you go underneath the ground and can't get up." I told him that FarCry is pretty weird for a lot of People, I had a fairly minor but noteworthy problem of dealing with extreamly oversaturated walls at times. They were almost so bright and yellow you couldn't look at them and it was pretty weird but I never had any dibilitating problems like this. Now I have a hunch that most of you will suggest a patch and a drivers update which is what I'd say too but perhaps someone knows a little more than I do about all this business? (and by the way his specs are fine 3200+ proc, 1GB ram, X850Pro vid card).
He has nice specs (send my congrats), but yeah anything under windows can normally be fixed by updating everything (and failing that re-insatlling windows and updating everything!)
Thanks, yeah couldn't hurt, he's getting a new copy he won't have to get a no cd crack for so that should help.
Hmm..interesting problem there, Gabe. Yo, it's me. Thought I'd join up, saw your post, realized that I was the mutual friend who loaned him Far Cry. Strange problem which shouldn't happen on Paul's machine...I'm assuming he has the latest drivers for his video card? Patch it. That's the one thing that helped me. I had the blinding wall problem you had. Patched it, it was fine. This is a decently old post, so you've probably found a solution for it, but I just thought I might give you my two cents. Tried messing around in Advanced Options? Peace.
Hey! Glad you joined Peter! I finally have someone on here who I know personally :70s: :hi2: Anyway we actually haven't persued it much further but once he gets wireless internet I'll be sure to patch it for him. At first I thought I was getting the weird results (on my computer when I tried it awhile back) becuase I didn't have loads of video memory but his card is pimped out so I don't think it's the case. Thanks for the encouragement man. One weird thing I did notice was that when I installed it I got a message saying the AGP aperature size was insufficient and should be raised to at least 64Mb's. I thought it was higher but I couldn't find anything in the BIOS for some reason. Anyone have any idea what I'd have to do?
Yeah, it's good to be here! Glad to try and help people out with things. Lemme see...AGP aperature size. I always thought that WAS in the BIOS. One of the many times my computer messed up a few years ago, Dad and I fiddled in the BIOS and we saw something about AGP aperature size...I'm assuming you've checked thouroughly. That would be the only place I can think of. Hey, need some advice from you. I'll PM you soon. Cheers!
