Have you actualy got a dvd-rw drive?

What is it that you are doing with DVD magic?

Are you backing up your movie in DVD format (MPEG2)? Are you converting to AVI format (DIVX, XVID)?

It sounds to me like you are trying to back-up your movie in AVI format. In that, case unless you specify that you want a certain size file, the program will default, creating a file size it thinks will be best. That file might be anything from 650MB to 2GB (or more) which you will not be able to fit on one CD.

Please explain exactly what it is you are attempting to do.

If you want to 'back up' your DVDs to your hard drive, your best bet is .avi files. They can compress your film to as little as 400MB.

Try Magic DVD ripper, and make sure you have DivX installed.
