Mandriva Linux 2007 first alpha released

"It's been a long time coming, but Mandriva Linux 2007 is close. The
testing / release cycle began in earnest recently with the release of
the first alpha, codenamed 'Frige'. The alpha is built in the form of
a Mandriva One combined live / install CD, allowing you to test the
release without even needing to install it to your hard disk, or to
install it quickly and easily if you choose. Later betas will be
released both as One CDs and in traditional three-disc form with a
full installer. There are lots of exciting new features and updated
software to try out and test in Frige, including KDE 3.5.3, GNOME
2.15 and X.org 7.1 with experimental support for desktop acceleration
via AIGLX. There are four different editions of Frige available: it
comes in both GNOME and KDE flavours, for both i586 and x86-64
architectures. The alpha is available from most Mandriva public
mirrors in the /MandrivaLinux/devel/iso/2007.0/ directory. You can
