My problem is: No signal to monitor. I have epox 9npa+ ultra...When I turn on pc it beeps 1 long and 2 short, which should mean Video adapter error. I replaced my graphic card with another one and nothing changes. LED indicator on mbo shows codes from 00 to 99 and then FF (boot attempt) which is normal, and everything else seems right. I replaced memory too, and still nothing... Does anyone have an idea? Thanks!
Hi, I would try a different video cable and also if possible swap the monitor with a spare. Also, if this is an LCD monitor, make sure that if you are using a DVI connection to set the monitor for digital signal, and if using a vga connection set it to analog signal. Some monitors will autodetect, but others have a button on the front that you manually switch.
I tried that already, but still thanks... PC was working, until one day my brother tried to turn it on...
Hi, I would reseat all cables, cards and connectors on the board first. If that does not work, I would then try to reset the bios. Unplug the power cord, remove the CMOS coin battery, then hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds. The put the battery back in and try to boot again. If it still is not working, I would try doing a minimal boot to see if it will come up. Disconnect all drives and peripherals, and only try booting with the cpu (and its fan), the video card, and 1 stick of RAM to see if it will post and give video on screen. If it does, keep reconnecting peripherals 1 at a time to see which one causes it to fail. If that fails, take the system board out of the computer case and place it on a nonconductive surface, such as cardboard, and see if it will boot that way. It's possible part of the board is touching the metal of the computer case and causing a short. If it still will not boot, it has to be either the video card, ram, power supply, motherboard, or cpu causing the problem. You have already swapped out the video card and ram, tested with a different monitor and video cable, which leaves the power supply to try next. If a different powersupply doesnt help, then I would think motherboard, then lastly cpu to swap.
