I built my PC from components about nine months ago. I had problems initially with the computer being erratic and unstable before realising the BIOS wasn't set up correctly for the CPU. I thought I had corrected the settings and everything seemed fine.

I'm again getting the same kind of errors I did when the BIOS was wrong. Thinking about, I don't think it's ever been right, but I've blamed the smaller less frequent problems I've had on other things.

I've just done a memory test using the memtester command in Linux and I get failures all over the place. Again, I think this is probably due to incorrect set up.

I've listed my relevant PC components and all my BIOS settings below and would be very grateful if someone could give me some advice as to whether the settings are correct or suggest any other causes of the problem that I might have missed.

Initially Make BIOS settings Default and if still there is problems there might be a error in your memory. Try someone memory on your board and vice-versa. Good luck.

change DRAM from 'Auto' to rated voltage described on the ram module.

    Good luck!
