    Hi all
Today I bought all the parts for a new pc and installing everything went fine, the only problem is that my system says that there is 256mb installed in stead of the 512mb that is installed. I installed a single 512MB DDR PC 2700 stick of memory, but my system only displays on the post screen 256 MB.
Does anybody have a suggestion to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

    My system:
    Asus A7V8X-X
    AMD XP 2600+
    512 MB DDR PC2700
    Asus FX 5200 128 MB
    WD 80 Gb 7200RPM

Wow thats a strange one seeing as its a single 512mb chip and that the usual maximum for each slot is now a gb.

Try having a play in the bios. 'User define' the speeds etc

    Or try another 512mb stick.

You may have accidentally been sold a 256MB stick. It's happened to me before. If it not displaying 256MB and you paid for 512MB, it doesn't matter if it's defective or was accidentally sold to ya: you paid for 512MB, and that's what you should get.
