Hi, can anyone please tell me whats the appropriate type of memory for a motherboard that DDR2 slots for 800/667/533/400 modules. My processor is an AMD 64 5000+ at 2.6Ghz.

You have kinda answered your own question.
If you have a DDR2 motherbaord then you will need DDR2 ram. The speed of the ram is dependent on what your current ram is running at.

Download pcwizard and check to see what speed your memory is running at, how many slots you have spare and also as to wether its running in a dual channel configuration.

The chances are that you are running in dual channel so will have to buy two ram modules for you to see a performance increase instead of a decrease.
