Mic Problems

I installed a New Sound card in August and every thing has been working fine untill today when i tried to use my mic for the first time since then and all my friend could hear over aim was my music, he could not hear my voice, so i went into the sound recorder, and it did not hear my voice. So i was just wondering why it would hear the music but no my voice, my sound card came with something in the Tray called VIA Vinyl audio control panel if that helps

 

Double click on the sound icon and make sure that your Mic is not on mute. Also increase the mic volume to full....
To test your hardware, go to control panel > sounds, under voice tab > test hardware....

 

Non of that worked so i dont know what to do. it will record sound but it will not record noise from my voice or from me picking it up. also when i tested the hardware, and i read the paragraph, nothing happended. it did not hear my voice then either.

 

Have you got onboard sound or a sound card? If Sound Card then make sure that u have disabled the onboard sound.

is your voice recoring set to your sound card, or is it still on the onboard sound.

 

I think u cant get option of selecting onboard sound after u disable it from BIOS....
