I don't know where you've got your information from, but it's all rubbish.

FireWire is almost dead - everything is USB these days

Do you really think Microsoft is going to stop making Windows? :chk:

Just to add to the rumor mill Vista claims to increase gaming performance by something like 6 to 8x with it's integration of DX10. If that's not marketing hype I don't know what is.

And the real question is 6 to 8 times faster compaired to what? DX9? XP? Not enough info to back up a ridiculous claim.

Games will run slower on Vista because most of the hardware is already being used by all the bloat.

The fact to the matter is Linux runs games much faster then Windows.

You are dead wrong, windows vista will run solitare and minesweeper like you've NEVER seen them before!! :chk: But seriously, megamaced is right, i heard vista will require some GPU juice just to run the OS.

intergration of directX 10 :s, but surely to use directX 10, you will need direct x 10 hardware :s.

its possible microsoft could stop making windows aswell, give it a different name like microsoft doors 2008 :D, so they give it a different name, and make it look tottaly different, and tbh, windows is so old now, its time for a change lol

    Super Minesweeper! I can't wait! :D

Take this as an example though:

I installed Wolfenstein: ET in Windows and Ubuntu using the same computer (P3 1.0GHz, 384MB SDRAM, Geforce2 Ultra 64MB). Under Windows the whole game lags and I have to set the graphics to medium. Under Linux it runs flawlessley with the graphics set to high!

Is there a master list of games that linux does support either natively or through emulation?

i think on vista the built in games will be slower lol, windows just keeps getting fatter and fatter :\, they need to give windows less junk and more salad :\

the amount of games supported by cadega is pretty good, but then again, its bad for some people, like its pointless for me to play games in linux, becouse i have an ATi card, and there graphics cards are crap for linux :'(, even though my card is powerful, wont even have much chance of running many games in linux, unless ATi decides to make some decent graphics drivers for linux.

i almost got to installing games in linux, then got pulled back into the fat of the land... windows.

That's why I always stick to nVidia. Their Linux drivers are faultless.

By the way, Microsoft are including a new game in their usual games suite of Minesweeper and Solitaire. It's a 3D chess game! WOW I hear you say! :D

M$ should really work on some decent game of their own to bundle in with the games included. There could just be some parental lock to keep little kids away but it would be a perk for the rest of us.
