    I have a Athalon 64 X2 5200+ CPU based system with 2 GB DDR2 RAM & 250 GB Hard Disk . I have a GeForce 8400 GS Card with 512 MB Ram installed in it as well . The Driver version of this card is 6.14.11.8160 as shown by Device Manager . I just read that the minimum requirements for Windows 7 are -

    * 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    * 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
    * 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
    * DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

    As you can see , my System meets all the requirements for Windows 7 except the last one (which I am not sure of ) . Is my System meeting the last requirement as well ?

    these are the minimum system specs from Microsoft

    however i think they are lower than the minimum requirements should be at least 2GB ram, which you have

    i would recommend 4GB ram & obviously tweak the swapfile / pagefile only having a DX9 vid crd will obviously degrade 3D performance, but the good news is your gfx crd will be ok with Win7, because your grfx crd has over 128MB ram & WDDM driver however, i'd probably move to a DX10 card as your finances allow but DX9 will be fine with Win7

    the more resources you throw at Win7 the more it thinks it needs more
