Missing GB

Hi All:

I have recently installed a Serial ATA 160GB HDD, however it is only showing 130GB! I believe this is a falt within Windows XP Pro (WIN2K). I would appreciate any advice on how I can remedy this problem.

You could have either BAD sectors on the HDD itself, your motherboard doesn't have support for large drives or
The BIOS could have misonfigured it, and if so, you may have to enter the correct settings in the BIOS,
eg - Sector and Head information.
Check you motherboard manufacturers website for compatibility lists and BIOS updates relevant to the problem.

You should never have to do that in the BIOS, if it was configured incorrectly the drive simply wouldn't work.

Try installing the latest service pack.
