    Hi!

All HW viewer utilities that I have run (Everest home, PC wizard) on my PC do not show the mobo name, which should, if my mobo's ASUS P5VDC-MX, obviously, say something like "ASUS blah, blah".

Fact is - I pretty much don't care about wether or not SW like Everest recognize my ASUS mobo. I care more about the possibility that this not detecting is a sign that my mobos resources are not being fully exploited. If true, how can I "unlock" my mobos real personality? ;)

It has nothing to do with that. I would question if you're using the latest version of the programs, but even if you were, reading it as an unknown motherboard isn't a reason to fret. These programs read the BIOS label and determine what board you have, or at least the line it's in, if the info is in the database for that software's version. If it's a new motherboard from the company, the software may simply not have been updated yet to reflect this.
