Modem and Router Issue

    Hi
    I am trying to connect my Netgear wireless router to my Motorola modem sb4200. I do not get the Internet connection(the internet light is off). I am making this connection through ethernet from modem to the laptop. The ethernet on laptop works fine, but i am not sure about the modem. How would i get this working. thanks.
