I have had this problem since i finished my build a month or 2 ago. the problem is that the monitor never comes on when i turn on the pc.

Recently i tracked the problem to being the graphics card not turning on. I checked the power to the g card and that is fine.

The comp will run fine and the monitor will turn on when i boot the computer up for the second time. However, it is rather time consuming have to do 2 boot ups and a shutdown.

It seems the monitor automatically goes into standby mode when i turn on the plug. the g card turns on when the monitor is pluged in to the vga port, and is not on standby.

Anyone else have this problem? Any recommendations?

Could it be a bios problem.

The monitor is an lg flatron lg1915s.

    Pc spec is:
    amd dual 4400
    1024mb corsair ram
    600w sli artic jeantech psu
    g card is a 6800gt bfg
mobo is a k8n msi sli platinum
    250gb seagate hdd barracuda

sorry dumb question (luckly i thought to google it after i posted), err..... have you got another screen lying around that you could try? (to determine if it is / is not the TFT)

If you suspect a bios problem, you should load / restore defualt settings.

Also, it might be worth trying another graphics card (as this will determine if its the g card / not the g card [as the monitor has now been ruled out])

I have had that idea suggested before, the problem is ofcourse getting a g-card to test.
