Anandtech has it that Intel has quietly launched the 570J. Their new chip, based on the prescott with EDB. (Execute Disable Bit). This is similar to AMDs NX feature which should help stop some malicious code taking advantage of buffer overflows. It runs at 200mhz faster than the 560 and apart from the EDB theres no difference between the previous version. Note this isn't the Extreme Edition. Surprisingly since the P4 was designed to scale with clockspeed, the extra 200Mhz does little for its performance. The P4s still lead in audio/video encoding and some other benchmarks but mostly its the AMD FX-55 which leads especially in gaming performance. The full article is here with some very pleasing benchmarks.
