More help required please. I have recorded vinyl to a CD which was ok but when I put the stylus down to start recording I sort of scratched it across and made an awful sound - woops! Apart from this the CD sounds good. But I have tried to edit this first little bit out with Nero, Audacity, RealPlayer, Roxio and a new thing called "Spin It Again" - none of them worked. I am tearing my hair out over this - why can't I do it? What am I doing wrong? Is there a simple programme to follow or something to download??? Anybody got any better suggestions PLEASE.
Do you still have the original recording you made? It is this that would be best to edit the first few seconds out of, then re-burn it from that stage. Can you elaborate a little on the steps you've tried and are getting problems with?
If you've got the digital sound files of the recording, you can use [google]Audacity[/google] which is a free multitrack sound editor to cut out the beginning and save it as wav without any quality loss, which could then be burned again to CD. Quality wise, even if you have to rip from the CD, as long as you do it to wav or a lossless codec it should be fine.
Thanks people - I was trying to do it the short way and that's why I didn't succeed. When I started again from scratch (if you'll pardon the pun) I managed to do it no probs. Have a nice day
