if i were you i'd just get another 512Mb module, but if you can afford it get another gig, but do you have any spare DIMM sockets, get PC Wizard
    see screenshot attached

iv got another 3 slots it can go up to 4gig but both sets of slots have to have the same ram in each or else they dont work or something .as iv put a 512 in slot 1 then a gig would have to go in slot 3 not 2 .so my mobo manual says

You'll need PC3200 (DDR400) DDR memory. Moving to 1GB will definitely help a lot.

The memory stick placement is going to be important if you're interested in taking advantage of the dual memory function the motherboard offers. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you go this route (highly recommended), you'll need to have another 512MB module, because two equal-sized sticks are required for dual-channel operation.

yeah i no about the two same sticks in the slots thing. i was playing quake 4 this morn and alot started to happen and it got more stuttery so went and got another 512 as i couldnt afford a 1gb at that time and its made so much difference also my new acer 17" LCD came too so its all good.

will get another 1gb soon though just to be on the safe side.
