Motherboard ECS KN1 SLI Extreme

    I bought a ECS KN1 SLI Extreme, but im having massive problems trying to flash the latest BIOS. I am also unable to use the driver/utilities disc. I sent this to this to Ecs main support site but have not had a reply yet:

    I am also unable to run a lot of the utilities on the utilities disc, update my BIOS or install drivers.

    Please Help

    My OS is Windows Vista Premium 64 BIT.

    Welcome to HWF :)

    You'll need the drivers for Vista from the manufacturers website. You can find the latest drivers here

    Flashing the BIOS is not a good idea. (I would not recommend to do it, unless an update is really required)

    If the latest drivers don't work, you might be better off with XP instead of Vista

    Thanks but The bios date is nearly two years old. The main problem is finding the correct Bios Falsh application. As you can see from the pictures they wont run in 64 bit.

    Its easy said that done to swap back to XP after spending a lot of money to buy it, so thats not an option


    And the link............ the KN1 SLI Extreme (Ver. 1.0a) is not listed :( :(

    If the bios doesn't make any problems, then don't flash it. If something goes wrong (wrong flash pattern or power loss) it can damage the motherboard (killing the BIOS).

    Are there components of the motherboard that aren't working without the drivers, and are there any exlamation marks in Device Manager?
