Hey all, new to this forum excited to use it for questions and other research. I am a fairly new student at an ITT Technical Institute around my area as a network major..I only have little experience with hardware from building the machine that i am currently having issues with and from what some of the classes at my school have taught me. This is my issue : I recently moved residences moving my computer, i plug it in and it beeps because my processor fan isn't in securely enough - i *am* however seeing a screen here thats giving me a warning, or the XP screen and then shutting down shortly after. I have those real pain in the ass fans that attach to the motherboard by the 4 pins in each corner..break easily and hard to really get in there. Anyways i get a new fan, clean my processor chip from the old coolant with non static wipes, reapply coolant, and make sure that my fan is securely into place. I load up...NO SCREEN. I have had this problem before, it was my video card. I replaced that not too long ago, to troubleshoot this on my own i tried using a method of cleaning my ram and my video card by taking a #2Penicil eraser and gently erasing the gold circuits at the end of my Video Card and Ram. I also at this point reset my BIOS by taking the battery out. Load back up and still nothing. At this point I'm very confused and don't know what to do - i have one of my friends take it and look at it. He works at a computer company. He also could not figure out the issue but suggests that it could be my motherboard. I just checked my motherboard by taking my ram out and seeing if i get a beeping sound when i load up. No beeping sound. I believe at this point it is my motherboard. I don't know what could have happened to damage it, but i think this is my issue. Okay so with that being said here is the motherboard that i am currently using (the broken one) : Intel D945PSN I need a new one, and i know that some of the parts that i have matter for which motherboard i choose. From what i understand, this is what needs to match: LGA775 Socket, DDR2 Ram(might be more specifics, not sure if so), IDE hard drive Connectors, Something having to do with the power supply Connectors, and my PCI Express Slot. Here is why i bother you all - any suggestions as to which motherboard i choose, am i going about this whole thing the wrong way, and what do you advice at this point!. I currently have taken most of the parts out of my motherboard - RAM, Video card, and placed them into a plasticlike container - I'm not screwing with my processor or processor fan at this point. I was looking on newegg but sort of having a problem because i am somewhat unsure as to what I'm looking for and the way they have their search down wasn't working with what i had submitted. Any questions you may have please throw them at me if they will help you with a response. Thanks for taking the time to read.
it is as long as a greek historical event lol well i suggest asus p35 mobo for performance also abit can be good for you btw try to work your mobo without any other parts installed on it if it gives no beep you will be sure that it is the source of problem and another case : does your new house have earth connection truely installed on the electrical connections if it doesn't have that makes the problem by blowing the mobo
