Alright so i have 3 AMD , one is a elitegroup k7sem, a soyo sy-k7vme and a gigabyte ga-7vrxp..and i'm having the same problem with all of them. I hooked them all up to power trying different athlon chips and every time this happens: power turns on fine, no beep for memory or bootup and no video...does anybody know what might be causing this and if it is fixable?

Do you have the motherboard manuals? If so, check if the chips are compatible. You didn't post the specs of the chips but it could be that the chips are either too old or too new for the motherboards. Also I presume that you firmly attached a good CPU fan onto the chip before turning the computers on. Socket A chips without a fan will be a useless heap of molten silicon faster than you can say "What's that smell".

Besides the CPU being borked, it also seems like you could have an insufficient power supply. Rather than continuously type this out, I'll just direct you to this thread about power supplies I typed up.
