I am just about to upgrade my system.
I had never consider the following question before when building a new PC and would like to know the answer.

When comparing motherboards for the SAME (cpu) socket by the SAME manufacturer-

do different models (especially with different Chipsets) have different processing output speeds and if so would the user notice the difference in speed?

Obviously different motherboards have different number of usb ports, ram sockets etc and also support different ram speeds HOWEVER if all support the same max ram speed can there be a different output speed? If so how can I determine which ones are the fastest?

NO ! Your Speed comes from your CPU and Memory and your Video card..

    Thanks.
I thought so but just needed confirmation. I guess then that the Chipset differences only affect such things as FSB speed, number of ports, max ram speed/type etc etc.
    Thanks again.

Modern chipsets (2012 and beyond) generally have minimal effect to FSB speed, much effect to ports, minimal effect to RAM speed and type.
