After a while of being inactive, I booted up my custom built computer and it worked just like old times for about a week. I mainly use it for gaming, my friend helped me build it as I have limited hardware knowledge. The build took place just over 2 years ago. I will attempt to give as much info as possible but once again I am not very knowledgeable about all of this.

    OS -Windows 7
    Gigabyte Motherboard - GA-X58A-UD3R (rev 2.0)
Video Card - GeForce GTX 460
    CPU - Intel....??
    Ram - 3 sticks of DDR3
    PSU- OCZ ModxStream-Pro 700W
Sorry if this is lacking more than just the CPU, if more info is needed i will try my best to supply it as I appreciate any and all help.

As I said my computer worked great until about a week ago, after booting up for the first time in a while I naturally started with the updates, updating drivers and windows updates. Then came the BSOD and USB power errors, I asked my friend and looked some stuff up and brushed the USB errors off as a bug with windows. Not really knowing what to do about the BSOD stop errors I also asked my friend and he just told me to switch OS haha, but I never got that far. This past Saturday the main power button did nothing, PSU did not respond, no lights, no fans, no beeps, no visuals. It just wouldn't start at all. After doing a lot of research I found out how to start running diagnostics on the power supply, as most suggested that it would be the source of my problem. Doing the "paper clip" trick the PSU responded whilst plugged into a fan as well as the harddrive, so it seems to be working. But still the motherboard light will not come on, nor will the CPU fan. My brother (who does have some knowledge of hardware but still not advanced) helped me reseat the Ram as well as the video card to make sure that wasn't the problem, we also used compressed air to clean out all dust from the fans, PSU, video card, but it wasn't terribly dusty we just wanted to make sure. The motherboard still has given me no sign of failure, unless thats the BSOD, I read that generally it would be beeps or at least still be able to turn on for a little while. I have always used a power strip to avoid any electrical problems as well. Now i am really hoping it is not the motherboard as I am tight on cash, hoping it is the actual case power button.

Sorry for the wall of text but it has been a frustrating past week so I just wanted to make sure I gave as much info as possible.
I greatly appreciate your time to read and help me further, as I said let me know if you need more info and thanks again!

Edit: Apologies if this problem does not fit this area of the Forum, if it does not I shall obviously be needing to know where to post it.

This can be a number of things, Was it running when you parked it ? First Mistake was to get updates from Microsoft ...Some of there so call up dates can cause problems... What is the BSOD error ? Does this case have a reset switch on it ? IF it is the front panel switch (Start Button) the just rewire to the reset Switch to test it .... If you got a BSOD, then it could be either ram or Hard drive..

Uploading a picture I took of the BSOD, I don't believe there is a reset button on the case, my case is Antec Nine Hundred black steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Upgraded USB 3.0.
