Hi ppl, I'm assembling a new computer, an I found a Matsonic motherboard w/ a P4 2gig for US$390. Doeas anyone know if this is a good brand or if I shuld buy one from Abit(500), Asus(477) or Intel(470)?

Matsonic is supposedly a brand from PCChips, the same company that owns ECS. I've heard good and bad about PCChips, mostly that they produce crap. If you don't need anything special, the Intel board would suit you just fine. Personally, I'd just spend the extra money and get Asus or Intel. More expensive, yes, but those are the only two companies I'm confident will put out solid boards.

With a 2GHz? I wouldn't take a chance. Expecially if there is no warrentee included with anything. I hear great things about the Asus board, and you might want to look into the Abit MAX
