    Hi
    I have decided to go with a P4 840D 3.2GHZ, with Video MSI 6600 TD256e.
I was thinking to get Gigabyte GA8I955x- PRO as my motherboard as it is the cheapest motherboard which supports dual core.
    any suggestions
    has anyone used this motherboard..

    Stop!!!

Why are you going to pay £ 390.34 (UK price, incl VAT) for a INTELL 3.2 Ghz (x2) processor when you could a 64 bit Dual Core AMD 4400+

    - its more powefull
    - it will uses less power (so it runs quieter, less cooling needed, lower temps)
    - its future proof, it will run 64 bit windows/linux when you decide you want it.
    - the motherboard will be cheaper.

    where as the intell

    - is more expensive
    - uses more power
    - runs at a higher temp (more noise from fans etc to keep it cool)
    - is not future proof as it WILL NOT RUN 64 BIT WINDOWS OR LINUX, as it is only a 32 bit processor

Overall, if you go with AMD you can have higher preformance for an equal budget, or the same preformance for alot less!
