As of Feb. 9th 2004, the Mozilla-based browser known as Firebird will henceforth be known as Firefox due to some legalities. That being said, it's now at revision 0.8, based on Mozilla 1.6. Don't let the >1.0 version fool you though, it's a LOT more stable than that other browser... *cough!* *IE* *Cough!*.

Mozilla Firefox is compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac. Its major features include popup-blocking, tabbed browsing, slick download manager, cookie management, skinability, flexibilty, speed and light weight. You can get it here, but for the first few days the server will probably be down under the load... Mozilla.org does have some mirrors up around the world though, so leach away. :)

This is quite good to use, zone364 does seems to have problems displaying correctly in Firefox, I will look into it...

Yeah, I like it too. It's all I use in Windows and Linux, except here at work. But Zone365 seems to display the same on Firefox for me as it does on IE.

I'm using it too as of this morning.

However, I have to be honnest, I don't see any difference.

Maybe if I find a couple of cool plugins I'll like it much more.

I still put it as the default though.

Did you know you can open web links in a new tab instead of a new window by middle-clicking? Also, you can set cookies to expire as soon as you close the browser. You can customize the toolbar any way you want it. There's tons of plugins that really allow you to customize Firefox and make it your browser. Don't forget the skins either.

I've used both mozilla 1.7 RC3 and firefox 0.9 and I gotta say firefox is much faster.

It's a much lighter download also.

    Firefox 0.9.1 Interim Release

Firefox 0.9.1 has just been released in order to address a few non-critical bugs.
It's a great browser, so check it out!

You're a lot more motivated than me; most of my systems are still running 0.8 :)

Heh. I jumped from Netscape to Firefox. Not much different. Firefox has more of an IE look (w/o the IE bugs  ) The only thing that would be nice is if I'd be able to login to an FTP with it like I can with IE.

Excellent...going to Mozilla Firebird seems to be worth it just from the support perspective.

BTW, Filezilla is an excellent compliment to MozEx, if you choose to use it.
