Hello, everyone. I've been trying to burn some MPEG music files to CD using K3B in Mandriva 2006, so that I can play them in my home CD player. However, they will not play at all in the latter as the CD player simply does not recognise the CD. The CD itself will play fine in Mandriva using practically any onboard player. I did not encountered this before when I first installed Mandriva months ago - burning such files to a CD so that it could play in an ordinary CD player was easy - K3b just did everything automatically for you. I have no problem burning video files in K3b so the they can be played on a home DVD player - I just wonder why music files are seemingly impossible to burn to CD for playing in an ordinary CD player. Any help would be appreciated. David.
I am not sure how things are done in Mandriva, but in Ubuntu you need to install the package libk3b2-mp3 for mp3 burning in K3B
Cheers, Mega. I'll try that. Incidentially, I have exactly the same trouble with K3b in Ubuntu, so 'libk3b2-mp3' may well be key to circumventing the problem - worth a try anyway!
