Actually, you can put up to an XP2600+ (266MHz FSB version) in there. That motherboard is on AMD's recommended motherboard list for up to the 2600+. Now, what I don't know is if a BIOS update is required or not. I've had some trouble trying to find one on MSI's website, so you might want to e-mail their tech support and double check that.

Yes, i also checked MSI's site and the CPU support list said a maximum of 2200+ and the only BIOS updates there were irrelivant except 1 for added support for Applebred CPU's!

There is not much difference in speed, 2200+ =1800Mhz ~ 2600+(thouroughbred core)=2083Mhz and the 2600+ barton core is about 1900Mhz i think.
Good cheap boards comparible to current specs could be >
    A7N8X-VM or
    ABIT VA-20

Is a This sempron better than a Athlon Xp 2200 as far as speed and reliability been lookin at this looks like a good deal http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104226 and the 2800 and 3000+ but leaning towards a 3000 do you think it would be worth it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104226

I was also looking at the New sempron 64 bit processors are they worth it they are looking pretty good tho especially this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104241
