Ok I have been mulling over this idea for a while and I mentioned it to a mate the other day, and I have now been tasked with building him one.

I have all the hardware planned

Shuttle case
Either a p4 or a AMD 64
1 Gig of ram
250 Gig Sata Drive
DVD Writer 16 speed

However I am slightly stuck as to what TV input card to use

What I wanna do is wire Sky Televison into the PC, with sky having a digital signal I am guessing I need a digital tv card

I have been looking at these models

Nexus -s by Hauppauge
http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/products/data_nexus.html

HIS ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB DDR All-in-Wonder VIVO TV-Out/DVI
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/9700_to_9800_Series.html

or

eVGA's GeForce FX 5700 Personal Cinema
eVGA's GeForce FX 5700 Personal Cinema

Basically what one would or can I use

I am wanting to use it to schedual recordings and watch t.v throu. It's going to be connected to a 42 inch plasma t.v which has vga input

I use i pixel view play tv pro for an anolougue terrestrial aerial but it can support cable that was onle about £40 and works great. are you just using this for a Multimedia machince or for gaming and everything else?? post back Dave :good:

It is only gonna be used for internet and multiumedia, occasionally office

I really need the card to take digital signals, that way I will get no loss from sky digital platform
