I'm still in the lead, and I'm folding with one hand behind my back. I'll eventually give my file server some F@H goodness, but not right now, since I'm already making everyone look bad. Hahahahaha. Of course, watch some IT head slap F@H on the 1,000 PCs under him and cream me in 2 days...;) :p

    Hum...

I'll start folding on my laptop 24/7, a pIII 1.2 ghz 256mb RAM.
I also have another laptop, a Pentium 133 mhz 32mb RAM I believe :good:
And I might build myself a second rig shortly.

    Watch your back ;)

P.S. Anti-Trend, I know resistance is futile, but at least try to keep up with me :p

I haven't had time to prove this yet, but AMD is supposed to be better for folding. I know going from my AXP2000+ to the 2400+ helped.

Ha! I've started folding and wait and see. I'll crush your pathetic efforts with my Duron 800mhz before you finish your next WU! :D

By the looks of things i may only get a wu done every 1 1/2 - 2 months on this duron 800mhz. This is only on from 5-9pm.

Running the text version? That'll help save CPU cycles. Then OC that biatch. You can probably hit 1GHz or so if you have decent cooling (well, I know mine hit 1.074GHz anyway).

My BIOS doesn't let me change the multiplier or any of the normal oc options. I can change this one setting which i'm not sure what itis, but i've got it to 880 mhz.

Hey, every bit helps. It could also be that the motherboard has jumpers or a bank of dipswitches to change the multiplier.

You can do it without extra software, but just grab FireDaemon. It's in the FAQ.

    I can now fold 24/7.

Before, I had to use a thermaltake smartfan II at full speed to cool my cpu. And that fan makes a lot of noise.

Now that I have to use a stock heatsink (the slk not fitting on an A64 and the fan not fitting on the stock heatsink), it doesn't make as much noise so I can sleep while the computer is turned on and folding :good:

My F@H shortcut is in the startup folder so I don'T even have to think about it when I open my computer (which is when I get up, and when I get up I don'T wanna' have to think about anything). I do have to remember to restart folding after playing games...there's no escaping that.
