My new computer hopefully! - Any help Greatly Appreciated

Hi,

I have never built a PC before and ive done my best to make sure that all the parts should fit together but just to be sure i would be very greatefull if someone would tell me if there would be any compatability problems or if it should be fine.

Here is what I am planning to have:

Im not really up to date with the new hardware out so couldnt answer your question.

One thing I have picked up lately is that the AM2 socket is going to be used longer than the 939. You will have more upgrade options in the future with the AM2 socket. I dont know which is supposed to be better (performance wise) but im guessing the AM2 socket because its the one AMD are sticking with. I beleive you will be able to get a DDR2 motherboard if you use AM2 as well.
 
that grfx card is AGPX8 and that mobo dosn't have an AGP slot, it is a PCI Express mobo, use a PCI express gfx card, everything else looks ok though
 
As Zeus said first, I'm pretty sure your motherboard uses PCI-Express graphics interface, the graphics card you chose is AGP. Also Pny isn't too great, you should go for a PCI-E card and i think you'll be fine. If you can spring the extra cash, go for the 7600GT. XFX cards overclock well, and some brands like BFG pre overclock their cards. EVGA is also reliable.

As other members read this they'll chime in, as they are more informed about the AM2 scene. As a refference to your current prospect setup, I am currently on 939 and i'm satisfied, but if i were to build a new system i'd go with AM2. It leaves more room for upgrade.

does anyone have any recomendations of Graphics cards makers (which are the best) or any cards im looking at around just under ati 9800 pro quality.

I think Ill get an 'XFX GeForce 7600GS 256MB PCI-E DDR2, Dual DVI Mfr# PVT73PUDJ3' for £82. Does Anyone think that it is a bad choice if so please say so thanks very much for your help.
