Hi everybody this is my firt post on here :p
And i am also not an expert on these subject so i have some questions.

I have just finished putting my system together.

I now have GIGABYTE "GA-K8NS PRO" nForce3 250 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket 754 and i've put an AMD 3400+ 64 bit processor in it. The system works great with no problems. But i just want to learn some of these numbers and such.

    My questions:

1- On the description of the mobo it says it has 1600 (2x800) mhz FBS. What does this mean and how can i check that my system is running at that speed?? or do i need special stuff to run at that speed. Is it something related to my memmory. I have PNY pc2700 333mhz 512mb memory and another same one is on the way.

2- Also on startup at the very beginning it says CPU clock frequency 200 Mhz. This one, i can adjust from the BIOS setup along with agp frequency which is set to 66 mhz by default. What these numbers mean and what they are supposed to be set at?

I am trying to get the best out of my system without risking anything by over overclocking it :p

I apreciate any comments or suggestions.

    Thank you in advance

1- the 1600fsb is front side bus but you may already know that, through your bios screen you can basically check up on everything under system speculations or under a certain section in your computer. i can't give you any info on boosting an fsb not reli sure much about it

2- go here its like a beginners bible for overclocking it has everything you should need to know to start off, if you get reli into it then maybe you can go to extremeoverclockers.com for som advice, the ppol there kno alot.

Don't overclock with PNY ram. It's very unreliable ram. Just how it is.

AGP's base frequency is 66MHz, so that's good.

The Athlon 64 has something called HyperTransport (HTT)...this is kinda like the FSB, but it's not quite the same. I'm still a little in the dark on this (have to do some more reading on it), but that should be alright from what you have at 1600 (2x800).

The CPU Clock Frequency is 200MHz, and combined with the multiplier (8x, 9x, 10x, etc), you get your CPU speed.
