I can't believe how unlucky I have been with computers these last few weeks! It all started back when my laptop hard drive failed. Although it was annoying, it was nothing too major as I had nothing important on it. The next hardware failure I was about to suffer was much worse in comparision! Two weeks later my main computer suffered multiple organ failure! First the motherboard packed in, then the power supply fan and finally the keyboard stopped working! That all happened over the space of a weekend!
Having barely survived insanity over that weekend, little did I know there was more to come! Yesterday our IPCop internet server packed in, stopping internet access for two buildings! Upon further inspection I determined a motherboard failure! Oh dejavu! No internet and no spare router laying around.

But what happened today really put the icing on the cake. The monitor on the computer I use at work went pop! Literally went bang with smoke and all! That moment really summed up my luck with computers over the last few weeks! It seems all I need to do right now is just *look* at a computer for it to stop working!

I think you have some magical powers. If you can get control over it, it might come in handy :D

The IPCop server broke down due to bad caps. Most of them were bulging and about 4 of them had electrolyte leaking from the top. The computer was running 24/7 so that must have exposed the motherboard's poor quality. It was an ASUS pentium 3 motherboard for reference. I'll take a few pictures of the caps so that others can see what to look out for.

You let the magic smoke out? Bummer.
I know the feeling of "everything goes to hell with computers at once" syndrome.

Wow, that's crazy, mega. Sorry to hear about all that, man; it must've really sucked. But I must say you scare me. I don't remember anything in a computer ever breaking on me, (only exception was a jump drive dying -- but that's not even a computer part, just an accessory) so I usually feel quite secure. Not so sure anymore... I might get nightmares now lol

I don't even have any kind of backup of anything =\
