Let me go into detail, first the computer specs, then my upgrade. Finally my problem

    Prior config
    nforce 780I SLI
    Intel Quad 2.67ghz Q9400
    2 Gig Ram (DDR2)
    128 mb Geforce 8600 GT
    1000 Gaming Power Supply
    Windows XP

    New Config
    nforce 780I SLI
    Intel Quad 2.67ghz Q9400
    4 Gig Ram (DDR2)
    2 Gig Geforce GT 610 SC + 20 MHZ (DDR3)
    1000 Gaming Power Supply
    Windows 7

In my PRIOR config i was running League of Legends which can run on 1-5 settings
Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Extreme.. I was running all video settings at Low and I would capture 60fps, and at worse 53 FPS.

I started playing Diablo III, and a couple days later, I started hearing loud noises from my computer (Processing type noise) and all my video games started running a lot worse. League of Legends I was lucky to see 60 FPS at VERY LOW settings, and would completely freeze up with a lot of action going on.

I figured it was a burnt out video card, and that I would upgrade my system.

When I installed windows 7, I did partition the hard drive and do a clean install.
Then I installed all my windows updates
After that I went to the nvidia website to download the lastest motherboard drivers
then finally installed my new graphic drivers, also downloaded from the nvidia website.

I tested out my new config by playing League of Legends, and my performace got increasingly worse. At very low settings i was getting 3-10 FPS.

I tried uninstalling my Video Card, and reinstalling again --- nothing

I tried switching the PCI express slot it was in -- nothing

The only difference on this upgrade is the computer is a lot quieter, but absolutely zero pick up in performance.

Also, I adjusted my BIOS to pick up PCI EXPRESS first instead of PCI -- still nothing

I did however notice on this last attempt that the CPU was running extremely hot +100F.

Is there a chance I burnt up my mother board?
