Hi, I need help choosing a graphics card. I don't want to spend more than £100 on it as I don't have that much to spend. I was looking at:

    MSI NX6600GT 128mb
    Sapphire ATI Radeon X1600pro 256mb

They are the same price, I just want to know which one is better. Also if you have a better suggestion and the place I could get it from that would be great.

    Thanks

First off out of the two go for the NX6600GT 128mb it's a better performer than the X1600Pro.

However, i wouldn't advice you go for either of these.

    Check out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Leadtek_SALE.html

There is a PowerColour X800 GTO 128MB for £88 including vat (£95 including vat & delivery).

This will out perform both the 6600GT & the X1600.

The X1600 is just a remarketed X700/X700Pro. It only has 4-8 Pipelines depending on which one you buy and the clock rates of both GPU & Memory are alot slower than the X800.

    The X800GTO 128mb has:
    - 400Mhz GPU
    - 700Mhz Memory
    - 12 Pixel Pipelines

And if you want better than that for an extra £11 you can get the X800 GTO 256MB
    - 400Mhz GPU
    - 980Mhz Memory
    - 12 Pixel Pipelines

Personally for the extra £11 i would get the X800 GTO 256MB, either way if you get either of these they will out perform both the 6600GT & the X1600.

What ever you do DO NOT go for the X1600 (its crap).

and an X800 GTO will hands down out perform the 6600GT due to the pipelines :) - and you can usually soft mod with modded video drivers to unlock another 4 pipelines - meaning 16 :D (X800XT)
