Hi i need help from an expert and i thought here would be best. Anyway i have recently purchased a travelmate 372TMi with the graphics card 82852/82855 and 855GM chipset. As you probally know it borrows memory of the RAM. It can borrow up to 64mb for any game/applicationits running. The problem is it doesn't get the video memory it needs for some games. For example command and Conquer generals needs 32mb it play smoothly but the graphics card uses 28 so the game runs slightly slow. My question is can someone please either show me how to manually change the video memory on the graphics card (which i was told by intel you can't do) or can someone please give me/make a new download for my graphics card that will keep the video memory at 64mb all the time (don't need all the 512 DDR SDRAM that my comp as). If it helps when i check my BIOS there is a section called VGA which is set to 16mb. ie its always at least 16mb video memory. I can't change this amount which is what i want to do. I know this is a hard task but you guys are the only people i know who are capable of something like this. Thanx so much for any help you have. I will be happy to supply other info you may need to do what im asking
Well, without being able to manipulate the memory size in BIOS, you're pretty much stuck. Unless there's a BIOS for the laptop that allows you to change it, or some hidden setting you need to enable to change the memory accessed size, you're pretty much SOL.
