    Hello

I have a dell xps 8300 that came with 2 500 gig drives in a raid 1 configuration. The raid controller is listed as "Intel Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset Sata Raid Controller" version 10.0.0.1046 in the 'Intel Rapid Storage Technology' app that came with it.

I'm running out of storage space and I can't add more drives (well maybe 1 more) to this system. Both the power supply and number of Sata ports is limited in this box.

I would like to increase storage space by replacing one drive with a larger one, rebuild the array, replace the second drive, rebuild the array, increase volume size. I'm very nervous about this, as there is no documentation describing it, and I've run into wrinkles doing this before with much more professional hardware.

Can anyone provide guidance or documention links for this process?

    cheers,

    Marc
