I dropped my laptop and my mini wireless mouse dongle was jammed into the usb port. obviously thats trashed, but a small battery fell out of my comp. after i removed the outer casing. Here's a pic of it. I was hoping someone could tell me what it is, and if it will affect any performance on my laptop . Thanks.
This looks like a capacitor to me. Usually the battery in a laptop is a coin shaped battery like on desktop system boards. Usually if a capacitor goes bad, your computer will start to have issues, from random freezes or crashes to just not booting any more. Its hard to say if that is what this is, but it certainly looks like a capacitor.
