I recently upgraded my rig here are the current specs:
    I7 2700K @ 3.5 Ghz (3.9Ghz Turbo)
12GB DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz (Corsair XMS3 @1600MHz 2X4GB and 2X2GB Kingston RAM @1600Mhz (Overclocked From 1333MHz) Running In Dual Channel 6GB in each channel (Corsair And Kingston in Each Channel)
ATi Radeon HD 5870 1GB XXX Edition
    Corsair 750W PSU
    GIGABYTE GA-Z68AP-D3 Motherboard
I have to HDD 1 300GB HDD for windows and other programs and a 1TB HDD for games. Both are SATA with 7200RPM

The Issue I am having is that every now and again regardless of what im doing the computer just locks up. The screen completely freezes and any audio that is playing just freezes and plays a constant tone. The computer doesnt even blue screen just completely locks up and i have to manually restart. Does anyone know what could be going on?

My motherboard had a setting to turbo the RAM. I recently turned this off as it advices that over clocking whilst having this setting on turbo could cause issues. Im yet to see if this is successful

If you have this machine overclocked, then try dropping it down a notch..
