Ok I have to get something for christmas and i need to choose soon. I've already decided i want a DVD-writer but need more ideas. Anyone with any help on stuff thats cool and not too expensive (no component upgrades please ie. athlon64) Nothing much more than £50 or so. Get thinking!
it depends on what kinda stuff you like? you could get a mp3 player, a game maybe? or even better save up for something bigger and better though the DVD-writer would be good for making backups!
Yea mp3 was an idea. But i don't think i'll get one. Thats the thing i don't know what i want or like.
Ask for gift certificates from your favorite stores, money, etc. Then you might be able to get something big with all the little certs that add up. $20 here and there from the relatives...hey, got a buncha certs and you can go buy a nice new GPU. Personally, I'm waiting for the X700 or 6600GT to drop, but will wait and see what I get for X-mas. I got $50 in gift certs toward one store last year and picked up a nice mobo with it.
Strange thing happened a few months ago. My dad received this envelope (with a label printed with a dot-matrix printer for anyone whos curious) from this person in some town with a note inside it saying with kind regards. In that note was £150 in vouchers for stores. All real and genuine. Its still sitting on the window sill in the kitchen. Just waiting to be used erm... for the most expensive DVD writer money can buy thats cheap. ish. Anyway I'm happy with the 5900nu i've got now its good.

I need something thats sort of gadgety but not too expensive. Something like a cigar lighter that doubles up as a Hi-power HeNe gas laser capable of shooting 3mm plastic pellets at some idiots in school. Ok not that extreme but stuff like that. I already getting PC components.
