You could always sit and read everything that has ever been posted on this forum - I think that'd get you quite a long way actually Apart from that there are plenty of free ebook sites out there - google is your friend *calls for HWF to be released in hardback*
I don't think eBooks would help. I cannot learn much computer-related from books, I learn better by experience. I got about 90 pages into a book about C# and I have now learnt more than the book could teach me just by messing around. The same goes for computer hardware. Whilst at my Saturday Job this weekend I almost set a computer on fire. I plugged a USB connector on the motherboard in the wrong place, which in turn stopped the CPU fan from starting. Smoke poured out the machine but no damage was done. I don't think a book will tell you that!
