I have a Video training disk, that I need to slow down the speed of the talker, but NOT change the pitch! I know this can be done with music, but what about a talking video? Is there such a program available?
Slowing down audio is pretty easy with analogue audio, however digitally encoded audio such as your video will be hard. You cannot just slow down the emulation of the program or video as a whole because it would slow the whole program down. You would have to have some sort of real-time audio editor so any audio output from your system would be a form of "slow-motion", i know of one piece of software that will do this and thats: Roni's Amazing Slowdowner however its for Macintosh systems (OS X i believe). I have had a search and have yet to find any easy to use software to do this, i suspect it would take a considerable amount of knowledge. The way i would do it, is to use windows recorder to record any sound input / output into your machine, run the video from start to finish, then use an audio editing tool to slow the sound down without altering the pitch, however this would take quite along time. Personally i would just try and find a different peice of software, thats better, if it's good software it should have the option available to slow down audio, or to slow down the program as a whole. - PX
Hi ProcalX! Roni's Amazing Slowdowner wouldn't do what I need. Your suggestion of finding a Software, that will give you the option of slowing down the whole program, is just what I need....if it will keep the same pitch! I sent off an email to Adobe Support, asking if there is a Software that will do what I want. I doubt that I'll get a postive reply. Thanks for your input! _RA
Personally i would have queried them if there was any way of adjusting the speed of the voice / video or whatever you want to control, if not can they recommend any third party software that may help (then mentioning your agreement that is your risk using third party software in relation to the adobe software)
For what it’s worth; I checked with Adobe. They gave me a telephone number for Total Training, the people who made the Video CD ROM. The tech said that if you slowed down the video, you wouldn’t be able to hear the sound. At least I heard it from the “horse’s mouth!”
