    Hello ppl,

The problem I am facing is with the Network Adapter, It all started when I replaced my Motherboard, it used to work fine before. Now even though it shows Broadcom NetXreme Gigabit Ethernet in the Device Manager it doesn't work. I'hv installed the latest drivers but it doesn't work, the LED display on the modem for Ethernet is on, but in Network connections is says Network Cable unplugged. When i use USB to connect to the Modem it works fine.

Plz help me out with this problem. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Vinith

    Welcome to HWF :)

So you're trying to connect to another computer using the network adapter. Is that correct?

Make sure you're using the correct network cable. When connecting two computers, you need to use a Crossover cable. To check this, hold both ends of the cable next to each other. Both ends need to have the colored wires connected differently.

BTW it works fine without the cross if 1 NiC is a 10/100 and another is a Gbps :)
