About 2 weeks ago i got my new graphics card, a brand spanking new BFG 8800 GTS 320 mb OC. I upgraded to this from a geforce 7950gt 512 MB. Bascially the card is good no doubt about it, yet for sum reason, my new card is dropping FPS on cs source even more that my old one at near the same settings. if im just moving about normally etc shooting im locked at 75 fps ( with vertical sync on it seems to lock at 75 at my screen can onli refesh up to 75 hertz,) yet when any more than like 4 ppl on the screen start shooting, on certain lvls my fps can drop to as low as into the 40 fps, which is odd :S. as with my my old graphics card it never dropped below 65 reli at any point. Its a custom built comp, with a 2.8 duel core AMD, 3 GB ot ram ( 2 1 GB sticks of sli read duel channel memory, and 2 512 mb ram) SLi ready mobo, and a 160GB harddrive, also has a 600w igreen power ( coolmaster)
I was told that one 8800 gts would outperform 2 7950gt in SLI so im just curious as to my my fps as dropping so low sumtimes??? any help would be apreciated as i want to upgrade to two 8800 running in SLi but duno if its worth it atm as the card doesnt seem that much better than my old 7950 gt. Please sum1 help.
    MAny thanks. Alex
(p.s i have updated to the most recent drivers) could a bios update be needed??? anything would be nice. :) ( also i have a 19 inch flatscreen)

hmmm I am wanting to get a BFG O/C 2 640MB 8800GTS soon, but off-hand I am guessing it may be an nVIDIA Driver bug, which needs fixing,

ye i suppose it could be a prob. A bit of advice on the 640 MB 8800 GTS, if you have a screen larger than 19 then itll be worth buying it, as im sure u already no that more larger screens need more MB's but the 320 is fine up to most the highest resolutions on a 19inch, and as it is an identical card with just half the memory, at some resultions ( with both cards set on the same settings, i.e high, AAX4 etc)the 320 keeps up with the 640 and sometimes beats it in some tests. so forking out an extra like 50/60£ doesnt seem worth it unless your running on a huge screen. Also with the 8800 GTS ( specialy with the OC versions) youll need atleast a 550W PSU as the card is a power guzzler. Anyways, thanks for your comment , i think i might aswell go ahead and buy another an just run em Sli. but any more comments on what could be the prob would be much welcomed.

If I were you I would wait for nVIDIA to update their forceware software and see if you notice anything better
