Thinking of doing my first new build. I'm not into gaming, but want a resonably fast CPU (3GHz) and 2GBs of RAM. Could someone please offer suggestions for a full system setup. My budget will be around £500. Many thanks, David.

Thank you very much for taking the time to look things up - it is much appreciated! That sounds a very good setup, with which I would be more than happy.
No problem but you might want to consider a different motherboard, its the one i have (and i'm very very happy with it) but there still charging what i paid for it (sometime last year i think), also make sure your PSU has plenty of sata connectors (HDD & DVD-RW drive are SATA)
instead of using AMD trying using duo 2 core instead, its a little bit more pricy but the profromance is so much better as ive also been looking at processors lately. Look at tomshardware for reviews and comparsions
I would use AMD over Intel any time, especially with several recently surfacing issue's with some of intel's chips that could lead to an exploit (and other issue's like ignoring the DOE flag (Do Not Execute) and not being strictly intel compatible).
