With little fanfare Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu Linux, has introduced a new "commercial" repository to its list of update options and a number of new commercial applications are being added to this list. One of the first is Panda Software's DesktopSecure.

    More at Tectonic

    The repository address is:

    Code:
    deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu dapper-commercial main
But don't get too excited just yet - there are only 3 applications in the repository at time of writing! They are: Opera 9, Realplayer 10 and DesktopSecure

I have updated the repositories list in my ubuntu guide to reflect these changes

Kubuntu users can get the very latest versions of KDE and Amarok by adding a special Kubuntu repository.

Firstly, download the key by opening a terminal and typing:

    Code:
    wget http://people.ubuntu.com/~jriddell/kubuntu-packages-jriddell-key.gpg
    Then:

    Code:
    sudo apt-key add kubuntu-packages-jriddell-key.gpg
And add the following repositories in your sources.list file

    Code:
    deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-latest dapper main
    deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/amarok-latest dapper main
