This is what I think is a good idea to run with for a new computer. Any input is appreciated. What I plan to run with this computer is from WoW, to DoW, to Supreme Commander, and of course SC2 :p. Then some FPS games on the side.

    ROM: CD/DVD Player Free
Hard Drive: [link=http://www.ascendtech.us/itemdesc.asp?ic=HDIUSDSATA160]160 GB Hard Drive $50[/link]
    Case: [link=http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1187021&Sku=ULT31795]With 500W Power Supply $40[/link]
    CPU: [link=http://www.eaglebit.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=EB-210-00179&Click=14]DUO-E6550 $180][/[/link]
    Memory: [link=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227124]2x1GB Ram $62[/link]
Mobo: [link=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128062]GIGABYTE GA-P31-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P31 ATX Intel Motherboard $85[/link], I dont know as much about MOBO's so some help here appreciated
Vid Card: [link=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128062]XFX PVT84JUDD3 GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card $120[/link], not sure if I want to spend the money on a 8800. Tempting to do so though but twice as much money.

Total: $537 + Shipping. Of which some of those items are free shipping.

Its an addition 120 dollars for a 8800GTS 320MB if I get that. Probablly worth the money for the games.

    Thoughts/Input Please

First of all welcome to the forum.

Seems to it's not a bad collection, but a little modification can gives a better performance.

For you selected CPU this main board is better.

And also for your main board and memory this CPU is great.

    Another best combination is,

    Main Boargd
    CPU

Sorry that for the last given combination you have to spend little more.

I was under the impression that the E6550 is a much better processor then the E64000, just shy of E6600. I don't mind spending more money on the mobo if it means it will work well.

yes, you right. But comparing those two L2 cache is doubled in E6400 than in E6550, compatible with the FSB speed. That's why I recommended it.
